Terms & Conditions

1. About Openstable
Openstable is an online marketplace operated by [COMPANY NAME], a company registered in England and Wales (company number [COMPANY NUMBER]), whose registered office is at [REGISTERED ADDRESS].
The platform connects horse owners seeking livery or equestrian activities with yard owners and activity providers across the UK. Openstable provides the technology and infrastructure to facilitate these connections. We are not a party to any livery agreement, contract, or arrangement made between horse owners and yard owners through the platform.
By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use Openstable.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Openstable.
- You must be a UK resident, or using the platform in connection with UK-based livery yards or equestrian activities.
- Yard owners and activity providers must be authorised to operate the business or yard they list on the platform.
- By using Openstable, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. Your account
- You may only create one account per person or business.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- If you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account, you must notify us immediately at hello@openstable.co.uk.
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating or updating your profile. Providing false or misleading information may result in account suspension or termination.
4. Yard listings
Yard owners are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of the information they list on Openstable, including:
- Yard facilities, services, and pricing
- Availability information and livery slot details
- Photos and descriptions
- Contact details and website links
Openstable does not verify the accuracy of yard listings. Horse owners should independently verify all information before entering into any arrangement with a yard owner.
Yard owners must ensure their listings comply with all applicable laws and do not infringe the rights of any third party.
5. Enquiries and bookings
Openstable facilitates contact between horse owners and yard owners. Sending an enquiry through the platform does not constitute a binding booking or reservation.
Any contract or arrangement for livery, activities, or any other equestrian service is made directly and solely between the horse owner and the yard owner. Openstable is not a party to that contract and accepts no liability for any dispute, loss, or dissatisfaction arising from it.
We strongly encourage both parties to agree all terms clearly before any horse is moved or payment is made outside the platform.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Plans and billing
Openstable offers three subscription tiers for yard owners: Free, Pro, and Enterprise. The features available at each tier are described on the upgrade page and may be updated from time to time.
Pro and Enterprise subscriptions are billed monthly or annually (as selected) via Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
Slot limits
- Free: up to 5 combined livery and activity slots
- Pro: up to 20 combined livery and activity slots
- Enterprise: unlimited slots
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you will retain access to your plan features until that date.
Refunds
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable UK consumer law. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at hello@openstable.co.uk within 14 days of the charge.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice of any price increase before it affects your account, and you may cancel before the change takes effect without penalty.
7. Reviews
- Reviews must be honest, fair, and based on your genuine experience with a yard or activity provider.
- You must not submit false, defamatory, or misleading reviews, or reviews in exchange for any payment or benefit.
- Openstable may remove reviews that violate these Terms or our review guidelines, at our sole discretion.
- Yard owners may submit one written response to each review. Responses must be professional and may not contain personal attacks or false statements.
- The ability to respond to reviews is a feature of Pro and Enterprise subscriptions.
8. Prohibited conduct
You must not use Openstable to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings or information
- Harass, abuse, or intimidate other users
- Send unsolicited commercial communications (spam)
- Scrape, copy, or systematically extract data from the platform
- Impersonate any person or organisation
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any payment or subscription mechanism
- Upload malicious code or interfere with the platform’s operation
- Use the platform in any way that violates applicable UK law, including the Equality Act 2010, the Computer Misuse Act 1990, or the Communications Act 2003
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
9. Intellectual property
The Openstable platform, including its design, code, brand, and content created by us, is owned by [COMPANY NAME] and protected by UK and international intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.
Your content — you retain ownership of all photos, descriptions, and other content you upload to Openstable. By uploading content, you grant Openstable a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and reproduce that content on the platform and in connection with our services (including marketing), for as long as your account remains active. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
You confirm that any content you upload is your own or that you have the right to use it, and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Openstable is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the platform will be available at all times, free from errors, or that yard listings will be accurate or up to date. We are not responsible for the conduct, accuracy, or reliability of any yard owner or horse owner using the platform.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Openstable’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to your use of the platform — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — is limited to the total subscription fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or other intangible losses.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
12. Termination
By you
You may delete your account at any time from the settings page. Deletion is subject to our data retention policy as described in our Privacy Policy.
By us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent or harmful conduct, or if we are required to do so by law. Where possible, we will give you notice before taking such action. Serious or repeated violations may result in immediate termination without notice.
Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Clauses that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice of any material changes by email. If you continue to use Openstable after the new Terms take effect, you are deemed to have accepted them. If you do not accept the new Terms, you may delete your account before they come into force.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.
You and Openstable agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at hello@openstable.co.uk and we will try to resolve it informally.
